about

I started making this song under the name "Dream Team Requiem" because I a) thought "requiem" was pronounced "re-queem" and b) I wanted it to be an upbeat battle theme, the kind found in the Mario & Luigi games. Then things got kind of outta hand and now it's one of my absolute favourite songs on this album.

The album art is inspired by and utilized the design of Giygas, the final boss of Earthbound. This is because the song uses the Earthbound soundfont and more specifically uses a lot of instruments from around about his encounter.

Bonus points to anyone who finds out what the winding text reads. I shan't ruin the surprise and type it out here, but I can assure you that it is absolutely Fucking Hillarious™.

God, this was a bastard to actually consistently save. Multiple times have I listened to this song only to realise that for whatever reason, it didn't save or render properly or something, and I uploaded an earlier version without the ending bit. Thank Christ for Apple's time machine, huh? I honestly think the issue might be with BitTorrent Sync. I guess you just gotta take the good with the bad.

Song created in FL Studio 12.
I used the Megaman X soundfont for its reverse cymbals and the Earthbound soundfont for everything else. I wish Earthbound included a good reverse cymbal so I could do an Earthbound-only song. So many of my Earthbound songs include that blasted reverse cymbal.
I used samples from the Earthbound OST and its library of sound effects, too.
